Conclusion

So here we are. The end of the essay. Thank you for reading all the way through this. At this point, I want to thank the people who helped me. My classmates, for struggling through all the same troubles as me, and giving me something to compare to. Marco Almeida, though you weren’t that directly involved in my project, towards the end, you were very helpful. My family, for encouraging me and praising me when I thought that all the work I did wasn’t enough. Krista Harper, family friend and UMASS professor, who was critical in helping me decide on the direction of my project. Lastly, and most important of all, I’d like to thank Claire Huttlinger, for, as stated above, helping me along, putting up with all of my issues, and encouraging me to work as hard as I could.

I was going to finish this off with some cliche paragraphs about how language is more important than ever in these unprecedented times, but I want to focus on how this project helped me grow. While, admittedly, a lot of the linguistic elements were known to me beforehand, I think that, throughout the year and especially during the last month, I have changed as a person. I started out with no clear direction in mind, other than to make a language and graduate, and thus, I didn’t really take it seriously after the first couple of months. But as the year went on, I began to focus more passionately on creating a well-thought-out and believable project. I feel like this has helped prepare me for future long-term projects, in college and in life beyond that. I’ve learned how to make a long-term plan and how I should strive to make my product more than just passable, which hopefully this project ends up being. So, reader, in Kithnen and English: Hedtero ti donye. Goodbye and thank you for looking at this project.
